So it looks like this docker run -cap-add=NET_ADMIN -name=pia -d \ What I needed to do was to use a Nginx container which is linked to the pia container. Turns out it is pretty easy (but I need to test it further). So while the whole thing didn't work I stumbled upon another container for transmission that talked about this exact issue I'm having of not being able to access the web interface. Transmission runs over the PIA network (if no ports are declared) but the problem remains that I can't access the webui of tranmission which would makes it much harder to manage. You can declare the ports with the PIA but not with the transmission container. So I stumbled upon this but I don't really get it. Or another question, How will I be able to access the web interface of transmission? So I tried them to add them to the pia container but without success. docker run -itd -net=container:pia -name=transmission \ So Using the following command I get the transmission container that is connected to the pia network AND has the same IP which is different than the IP I have on another computer without VPN. ![]() ![]() Turns out I needed to run the container instead of creating it. So after stumbling above the documentation I thought I read a bit about the creation of a container network. I get an Error: "Error response from daemon: Conflicting options: port publishing and the container type network mode"Īnd now, since I'm not that much of a docker guru, I'm at a loss on how to proceed. v /media/transmission/downloads:/downloads \ v /etc/default/config/transmission:/config \ When I use docker create -net=container:pia -name=transmission \ Now The Docker Hub page for PIA also says that I need to tell the container that should use the PIA container to use it with -net=container:pia v '/etc/default/config/pia/nf:/pia/nf' \ I created a PIA network (as written on the docker hub page) with docker network create pia_networkĪnd the container with docker run -cap-add=NET_ADMIN -net=pia_network -name=pia -d \ To my surprise someone had the same Idea and there were Docker images for everything I needed already available so my choice fell onĪfter figuring out how to get the PIA container running I am now struggling with getting transmission connected with PIA so that transmission is using the VPN connection. After using a Raspberry Pi as Download Server with Transmission and JDownloader for a long time now I thought it could be a good Idea to use those programs in their own docker container.
